Beginning March 27, Food For Greater Elgin will begin a Seniors Only food distribution on Friday afternoons from noon to 2 p.m.
Guests over the age of 60 are welcome to visit our facility at 1553 Commerce Dr. in Elgin. A photo ID and recent bill that documents current address will be needed to receive food.
Food For Greater Elgin has also begun serving students from Elgin Community College at our pantry during normal distribution hours. Students will need to bring their ECC student ID card in order to receive food
Normal distribution hours are:
- Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
- Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
- Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Food For Greater Elgin operates on a ‘client choice’ model so guests may shop for food in our warehouse.
As always, Volunteers are needed to work all distribution shifts, as well as in other roles that provide essential services at this time of highest need. If you’d like to volunteer, please click here.
Thank you for your support for Food For Greater Elgin!
