Our ‘Virtual Pallet to Palate’ celebration is now on online at www.ffge.org/p2p.
Headline presentations include short talks by
- Mayor David Kaptain of the City of Elgin
- Jeffrey Sanfilippo, CEO of John B. Sanfilippo and Son
- Joann Hartmann of the Elgin Cooperative Ministry
- Jim DaLuga, General Manager of Brilliance Subaru
- Chef Frank of Café Roma
Of course, while these were the headliners, you were the stars with your support, gifts and volunteer time that you contribute to allow Food for Greater Elgin to deliver food and hope to our neighbors who need both.
We had far more material than could be used in only one video, but it will find a use in the weeks and months to come.
This was intentionally not a fundraiser, but an event to say “thank you” for the funds that have already been given this year.
That being said, over $14,000 was given over the week of P2P!
Thanks to our volunteers who made the event possible.
Rachel Traficanti and Sandy Carpenter from the Board of Directors led the committee, with super-volunteer Mary Fortaine heading up contacts with our restaurants.
Other members of the committee that worked behind the scenes to make this happen included Shannon Dykowski, James Hare, Christy Kuechler, Sandra Kosinski, Marilou Pillman, Scott Richmond, Michael Storey, and Mike Warren.
Alan Thavisouk of Xat Media was our producer, Deuane Chan our videographer, and the team at ColorWord Creative managed our website and event promotion.
