The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will perform this Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Food For Greater Elgin from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Part of the orchestra will gather under the tree in front of FFGE to play for our guests and anyone else who wants to gather.
Erik Malmquist, Executive Director of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra explained the rationale for this concert to be three-fold:
1. FFGE has traditionally come to the ESO for a spring fundraiser and this is an opportunity to switch the roles and have the orchestra come to FFGE.
2. Because the ESO is unable to have their regular array of concerts due to the coronavirus, they are seeking to do concerts in untraditional locations and broaden their audience.
3. The hidden partner in the ESO and FFGE fundraising efforts has been John B. Sanfilippo and Son, which strongly supports both organizations. Food For Greater Elgin and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra thank JBSS for being the honorary sponsors of this concert!
