I started coming here during the pandemic because, well, our family income became pretty erratic.
And we couldn’t pay our bills. Food for Greater Elgin has been a real blessing to us because we were
able to get such healthy food, and we were able to pay our other bills as well. People have always
treated me well, it’s like I’m with friends. I like coming here, and like being able to pay our other bills as
well. This has been a real lifesaver for us. – Guest of FFGE
Stories like this one abound at FFGE; we hear them every day from the people who come through our doors seeking food, compassion, and hope.
But if you don’t volunteer regularly with us, you might not know how your donations become Gifts that Keep Giving, which is why we want to share some of those stories with you in the weeks to come.
Throughout this season of giving, we want to show you how much of a difference even the smallest act of generosity can make, sometimes changing lives for generations to come.
Do you have a story of a gift that keeps giving?
Share it by emailing ed@ffge.org and we may feature it on our website and social media.
Take action now by participating in our year-end “Gifts that Keep Giving” campaign.
Volunteer to pack holiday meals, or donate to help us provide food for our neighbors–a $25 gift to FFGE can easily supply a festive spread for a family of four.
Will you make a gift that keeps giving during this season of gratitude?
